The Homburg Castle was under Landgrave Friedrich II. By architect Paul Andrich built around 1679-86 in place of a medieval castle and is well preserved. From the castle today testifies to the accessible keep from the 14th century, the "White Tower". The clustered around two courtyards baroque complex was built in the early 19th century by the
Darmstädter court architect Georg Moller and again structurally changed in the early 20th century. The Castle Bad Homburg code was until 1866 the residence of the Landgrave of Hesse-Homburg and a sought-after summer residence of the Prussian kings and German Emperor.
